From the age of just 17, Kelz Clarkson has shown promising talent in
the world of DJing. From starting out at small venues in and around her
home-town of Swindon Kelz is now one of the South West’s biggest
talents in the Indie Rock and Electro world. Her technical skills and
energetic stage presence have been impressing the dance-floors of the
UK for sometime and have led to some massive achievements. As a female
battling a male orientated industry and refusing to give into the
technical age of laptop DJing, Clarkson is really one to watch out for.
Summer
2007, Kelz went up against thousands of contestants in the Carling
Academy AAA DJ competition to be placed 2nd and has a credible list of
support slots under her belt. Since the professional career of Clarkson
began, she has performed in massive venues including The Ministry of
Sound and has been represented by London and Bristol agents for some
time. After DJing with Alistair Whitehead, The Hoosiers, The Mystery
Jets, Propaganda and Ramshackle, she was then asked to be the sole
support for Klaxons and Stone Roses DJ sets to over 1,600 people.
In
2008, Clarkson was booked for main support alongside BBC Radio 1's Zane
Lowe in Cardiff. Following this, she supported Ian Watkins of the Lost
Prophets was asked to return after performing a stunning set to him and
his manager. Other warm ups include Pendulum, Edith Bowman, Audio
Bullys and Jaguar Skills alongside the close down of Cardiff Summer
Ball after Fabio. Just recently she also played to thousands of people
at the 2,000 trees festival after Fightstar and The King Blues.
Most
recently Clarkson has been caught climbing trees with the guys from
Feeder and having her shoes signed by Calvin Harris. She was also seen
on the top ten list in the Dirty Smart DJ clothing competition and
receives recognition from the team on a regular basis. With her new
residencies including The Syndicate Superclub in Bristol, Clarkson is
looking forward to big things in her future. Kelz Clarkson is going to
go global and has the determination to get where she wants……………
